Financial Planning FAQs
Common questions on financial planning and investing
What should a financial plan include?
A good financial plan should bring together the different parts of your finances and connect them to what you want to achieve.
That may include your savings, investments, pensions, protection needs, retirement plans and wider financial goals. It should also consider your timescales, attitude to risk and how your circumstances may change over time.
The aim is to give you a clear plan of action and help you make informed financial decisions with greater confidence.
Can you help me plan for retirement?
Yes. Retirement planning is about understanding the lifestyle you want in later life and whether your existing pensions, savings and investments are on track to support it.
We can review what you already have, help you understand your options and build a plan around your goals, expected retirement age and income needs. Where appropriate, we can also advise on pension consolidation, contributions and how to take an income in retirement.
The value of investments and pensions can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invest.
How do you approach investing?
Our investment approach starts with you. We take time to understand your goals, timescales, financial circumstances and attitude to risk before recommending an investment strategy.
We believe in taking a long-term, diversified approach rather than trying to predict short-term market movements. Your investments can be spread across different asset types and markets to help manage risk while working towards your objectives.
Where you receive ongoing advice, we can review your investments regularly and make recommendations when your circumstances, goals or needs change.

Will I have a dedicated adviser?
Yes. You’ll have a dedicated adviser who takes the time to understand your circumstances, priorities and financial goals.
We believe good advice starts with a strong relationship, so your adviser will get to know you and provide recommendations based on your individual needs. Where you choose an ongoing advice service, they can also review your plans with you over time and help keep them aligned with your goals.
